At a time when English-only has become acceptable while students in other countries are learning 3 or 4 other languages, it’s imperative that we embrace the reality that we are a multi-lingual nation. The sooner we take these steps, the sooner that we are able to set our students up in the best position to not only compete in the global work force, but also to embrace the world around us. GueroLoco has not only seen this first hand, he’s lived it. It’s through these experiences that GL is able to motivate youth of all ages and backgrounds to learn other languages and embrace the communities around them.
The three basic principles of Mr. GL’s presentations are multilingualism, motivation and cultural understanding. To accomplish this, he uses live music, multimedia and stories from his own bilingual journey. The presentations and concerts are set up on a tiered learning system catered to the grade level and learning level of the students. They are effective for all age groups K-12 and University level. Here is a breakdown of the methods used and benefits provided for the different grade levels.
